1. Does Kratom alleviate withdrawal symptoms due to narcotic addict [top]
Yes. Kratom has historically been used in Thailand to alleviate symptoms of opium withdrawal. There are anecdotal reports of kratom relieving withdrawal symptoms resulting from dependence on heroin, methadone, hydrocodone, etc.
2. What are the active ingredients in Kratom? [top]
There are many alkaloids in kratom. Mitragynine is the most abundant of the kratom alkaloids but 7-hydroxy-mitragynine is present and is considerably more potent by weight. Both mitragynine and 7-hydroxy- mitragynine probably account for most of the narcotic-analgesic effects of kratom.
3. Can Kratom be safely combined with other substances? [top]
Mixing kratom with other drugs may (depending on what it is mixed with) be more dangerous than using kratom alone. Some people experience increased nausea and headaches if they combine kratom with coffee. Kratom should not be combined with large doses of alcohol, however, small doses; e.g., one beer, seem safe to take with it. Certain herbs reportedly increase the euphoric qualities of kratom. Some legal psychoactive herbs that users have combined with kratom without reported problems include chamomile, red poppy (Papaver rhoeas), kava, Melissa (lemon balm), peppermint, and Nymphaea cereulea (Blue Egyptian Water lily). Some people have combined Salvia divinorum with kratom (making a very powerfully psychoactive combination). Some people reportedly like to combine kratom with cannabis. No health problems have been attributed to this (illegal) combination. Kratom should not be combined with narcotics, barbiturates, large doses of benzodiazepines, or with sedating antihistamines such as Benadryl as respiratory depression might occur. Those with sleep apnea should probably never take kratom.
4. Is Kratom addictive? [top]
That depends on how it is used. A small number of people (primarily in Thailand) have become dependent on it. Kratom is not habit forming IF USED RESPONSIBLY. It is very important NOT to get into the habit of using it on a daily basis. If used everyday for a prolonged time, kratom, like coffee, alcohol, or tobacco, can become a habit. It is best to use kratom no more often than twice in any week, and not to use it two days in a row. Unless kratom is being used to treat a medical condition such as chronic pain (consult a physician before using it to treat any medical disorder), it is best reserved as an OCCASIONAL treat, rather than as a daily indulgence. By using it occasionally rather than daily, one avoids becoming dependent on it, and will experience more pleasure from its use.
5. What are the effects of Kratom? [top]
Kratom has stimulant, narcotic-analgesic, and visionary properties. In low doses, the stimulant effects predominate. The stimulation is mild and somewhat like coffee, but not identical to it. Higher doses bring out the sedative effects. Kratom can be used as a recreational drug, a potent pain killer, a medicine for diarrhea, and even as a treatment for opiate addiction. At high dosage, the user often will lie down listen to music and enter a world of ‘waking dreams’.
6. How do I know if my order is processed? [top]
An email notification will be sent to you to inform you of the validity of your payment. If you don't receive a notification within a few minutes, please contact billing@payzip.net to make sure your order is processed correctly. You will also receive an e-mail direct from us confirming your order is being processed; this is usually done within 24 hours of receiving your order. Due to the time difference between countries we ask that you are patient and be assured that your order will be processed in a timely matter.
7. Are there any ill effects when using Kratom? [top]
Nausea maybe felt if you do Kratom a large dose. Kratom should be taken in small doses when first starting and work your way up to a suitable dose for you. If nausea is felt, the best thing to do is to lie down in a darkened room with as little movement as possible, the nausea should pass soon. Kratom does not appear to be physically addictive but can be habit forming so limits should be set for how often Kratom is used and what size dose is used. Itching maybe experienced which can be quite enjoyable! Studies done in Thailand on long term Kratom users has shown little or no ill effects however with any ethnobotanical responsible use is the key.
